Default Does anyone have a folding post on their drive?

Thinking of some extra protection for the scoob and considering getting one of these installed:

http://www.ultrasecuredirect.com/aca...gral_Lock.html

Anyone have anything similar?
Are these any good?easy to break/pick lock?

I know it won't stop the most determined thief, but may be a detterent to an opportunist.

I was thinking about it, but more for the ***** that reverse on my drive to turn around. I would wait for them to reverse on and then push the button for the post rise while over it

I looked at getting one and thought:
If they want the car bad enough they will either burgle yur houseor us another car to pull n snap it.

Don't get me wrong it would help. Get some CCTV and have you considered parking it in the street with a snap on steering wheel - this way they don't know what house to burgle for the key.

Only issues with fold down ones is if you have a low splitter could catch and they usually only bolt to the floor, you can get ones that are hidden below ground and pull vertically up but must be careful as they can freeze in the ground in winter and cause issues, I went for a removable post that goes in the ground about 10 inches I set the base in concrete and then a thin layer of Tarmac to blend in, had it freeze once last year but once I got it out I kept the hole empty by using a pump siphon whenever any water was in there. Can't do that with the lift up ones, post is really only as secure as the lock but think the fold down would be easier to pull off than one in the ground

Drop a splash of anti freeze in the hole when the frost starts. sorted.

does anyone uses this type of security on their scoobs?

very popular amongst land rover.. I have one.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER...item27bd666e57

they are not hard to fabricate either, I've made one for a mate.
there's a company that does a similar thing that you can adjust to any car..so probably would fit a scoob, cant remember the company name though!

I think security posts are a great idea good visual deterrent things hidden are good but usually people may try to steal and cause damage with the post if they aren't prepared to remove it hopefully they won't try and hopefully not damage the car I use one and leave a disklok on the car also as my post is removable and I leave it in the cupboard I keep my shoes find it easy to remember as when I put my shoes on if it ain't in the cupboard I know not to drive until it is. Just gives me extra peace of mind friend of mine used to leave a short plank full of rusty nails under a cloth on the drivers seat as an alarm now that I might forget and probably regret it afterwards

Has anyone asked their insurance company if it would reduce their premium if they had one of these fitted on their drive?

Ive got a fold down post in front of my garage door, past attempts by ******* trying to pinch my motocross bike which is behind the scoob!!
My scoob has a splitter and is lowered and i dont have any clearance probs which is a good job as i drove straight in when i first fitted the post without checking for clearance
