In Autocar today the first tuned European as opposed to Japanese spec STi.

Final analysis "Impressive upgrade package for less than the cost of a standard scooby"

Well done Ian! Shame they couldn't get all the facts right though - underneath a picture of the aftermarket big spoiler(on a non-prodrive sti) they state styling is left unchanged LOL

I was well chuffed when I went to the news agents this morning

They could have made the number smaller if they had tried though

Cool

Well done Iain. The STI certainly needed the boost, so to speak, but to manage it for cheaper than a UK one... excellent work!

The ECU is remapped to take into account the slight increase in boost and the addition mods. There is more to come from the STI engine but I wanted a nice simple setup that would improve the car enough for 95% of owners (not including Moray etc )
Anyway I think the handling's where the biggest improvement came
The other Autocar tester (ex. racer) was astonished at the difference and he COULD drive as we found out in the back of a new Skoda lol

Iain

Presumably the UK spec import also has a Unichip - is it the same as the JDM spec Unichip or a different setup?

Hi Dave,

As far as I know its the same Unichip (new design) as the one what is fitted JDM STI's. Works really well and no spiking

Iain,
Is that 310bhp @ powerstation? You could take it to Power Engineering to get their figure (325bhp?)

My demo produced 303 bhp at Powerstation before the boost was increased slightly It has free up more since then as well

We had a car at PE recently and they commented on how well set up the car was I saw one of their cars today and that was good too, so its pats all round

Powerfigures can't begin to explain how different the car is

Ian,
I spoke to you at Bedford (STI7 with 440miles on it) had to go early as my Birthday party so missed your offer of a ride

Was the Performance pack £2K with lowering springs and rear roll bar ?? me numbers head like sieve or was that something different to the Pack above?

Can we have some views on how people think this compares with the elusive PPP that seems to be getting further and further away, when I got my car begin of Feb I was told def within 2 months, (which was 1 of the main reasons I bought the car , were now 3 months down the line with at least another 2 months to wait, so.....
As a package I asume the litchfield will be cheaper, and from what I see contains a lot more than the PPP, the prodrive suspension mods will def be extra, so any issues with spiking, are restrictors used, what exhaust system, does it sill have cats, warrenty, etc...etc...
Whats peoples views, I'm pretty sure theres goin to be 1 very biased view
Gary

Ian, may I complement you on a genius bit of engineering and market placement - a better car (by some margin) for less cash, and still with three year warranty? Sorted mate.

Only downside I see to the buyer, is whether UK dealers will service these UK spec cars, which are imported from Japan rather than the EU. Any ideas?

Ian,
What about warranty?
and do you think there's a chance you send the kit abroad?

The performance pack has no effect on our warranty

I can send all of the kit to anywhere in the world. Call me with your requirements.
