Default WHATS MY CAR WORTH?

Hi guys could you help me buy telling me what a fair price for my car is?
Its a 2004 WRX with 37000 miles full documented service history, I bought the car off my friends insurance company as a cat D. It had minor damage to 2 wheels rear hub and bumper. I had it professionaly repaired and now is mint inside and out. It also has
  • full 3" stainless system (manifold back)
  • RAC trackstar fitted
  • front strut brace
  • Eibach springs all round
  • STI spoiler fitted by scooby clinic
  • Turbosmart dumpvalve
  • Blitz induction kit
  • Remapped
  • uprated brake pads
reciepts for all mods.

Any help appreciated. Dan

Look at the cars currently on the market (sensibly priced ones) and then take off maybe a £1000 again. Car's ain't selling and with non accident damage repaired cars going so cheap any cat D will have to be a real bargain to sell imo.

GLWTS though, if the car is as good as it sounds and is advertised at a bargain price you should have no problem selling.

If you can show pics of the damage it would not make a deal of differance, those who are unsure about motors would stay away so drop it slightly. I would guess about 5k would be a good price for a quick sale, abit more if you prepared to wait. Also depends on whats around for sale and where you live.

Cat D normally 33% less than non Cat D. Why would anyone buy one though when there is 000's of undamaged cars to choose from

I agree. I think £4k as an initial asking price to be honest

On autotrader theirs is an 03 blog in silver with 39k for 5990, to be fair thats quite expensive. And again depends where you are, a repair or nicked car can be spot on, just your buyer market is reduced from what is small.

I agree with scouser ^^^

About £3500 would be what I would say even at that you might have dramas selling it.

You would prob get more if you broke it and sold the bits.

That's the thing with any CAT car insurance job, CAT D is not a bad one though that is minimal damage and someone in the know might snap it up, its the same as any sale if someone is looking for one but cant afford 5k or 6k yours might be the answer for them.

More to the point what do you think its worth you know what you spent on it and what its like just think what would you pay for it

I got £3250 part-ex on mine earlier this year (WRX PPP with original PFF7's and loads of other bits / 80k miles though)
Probably could have squeaked more privately but fed up with canvassers and tyre-kicking muppets

I struggled to eventually get £3400 for my 2003 Blob WRX PPP 94,000 miles, a couple of months ago. Times are really bad for sellers.

Cheers for the input guys, some difference of opinion in prices but all good. I'll stick on a few websites in a couple of weeks start high and keep coming down, but a mint Wrx with 37000 3k? i'd prefer to track it. Cheers Dan

the prob ive always found with cat d cars is that any numpty can fix em...
least with a cat c you have to have a vic check so least you know the job has been done properly...

33% off the book price is usually the general rule of thumb...
see what webuyanycar offers you and add some on ....

^ VIC check does not check the quality of the repair, only checks the identity has not been changed... hence Vehicle Identity Check.

Well I've had plenty of cat C's even, never had any problems.
There are a lot of cars that have had the same sort of repairs as Cat D's, but they've not even been registered. So I think its better you know, than you don't.

like i said, some know enough about cars too have a good look and find a deal, most scooby's at some point have been modified or repaired - have a look round any car and it will have a had a ding at some point. I would buy one no probs - I think some of the people who have quoted daft prices want to buy it off you mate.
