we hired one in Crete last month, good craic for running around the town on and as our hotel was up a hill and Herself having some disability problems it meant she could go shopping on her own. Wouldn't mind one for running about on at home for nipping down to the shops etc or riding on the local beaches

I used mine on road quite a lot, fancied it more than a bike as you get 12 months use rather than 6, the winter is better than the summer!
But i wouldn't fancy it for commuting, even slight damp on the roads will make it drift on roundabouts etc, not that cheap on fuel even as standard but the insurance was only £200 odd on a brand new 700 with only one years no claim on a smaller quadzilla.

450 is a race quad, they need a lot more work to keep them running. I dont think they would work on the road TBH. With a few mods a 70 is crazy fast my quad has a top end over 100mph (on the mud that seems bloody fast).
You can get a Turbo kit which would be fun on the road but a waste of time on the mud
