new boy, help please
alright guys,
i have been looking to get into the scooby world ever since i was about 13/14 and my dad got his first brand new scoob.
i currently drive a vectra gsi, its a lovely car and i adore it, its just not a scooby lol.
2 things i am faced with. Dad reckons his was getting 12mpg and the insurance is mental,
im 24, with 6 years NCB no current convictions and the cheapest i can get on a turb2000 is 1500 quid TPFT. think that was esure. people like adrian flux, and performance direct are coming back at 3300 lol
any pointers or info on this will be a huge help as im looking to get rid of the vec for a scoob.

Insurance can be bad, but isnt it on every performance car these days? Might aswell pay a few hundred extra for alot more smiles per miles. If you get a half decent scooby it will be night and day faster than the Vectra
As said 20-25mpg is achievable round town, 25-30mpg on motorway.
I managed to get 9mpg round Rockingham so 12mpg for everyday driving would be pretty spirited....

I pick my 55 plater wrx up tomorrow and after trying flux's (i used them for my mr2) and even a-plan (used them for my skyline) they couldn't even beat moneysupermarket. I'm 31, 5 years ncb (protected) and tried Gary Moulson at Keith Michaels today and they did it for £720 - bargain! Give them a go, I believe they come highly recommended on scoobynet. I did toy with the idea of trying a 56 plate type-r as the insurance was only £500 but opted for the scoobs as its simply a better car!
