Default Insurance group number reference

Hey,

Does anyone know any good sites that give you the insurance group number?

It seems alot of sites either dont have the model of scooby im looking at or they have the old range (not up to 50)

Cheers,

26 seems a bit extreme for a 20 sport if you ask me , group 13 seems more realistic .

I thought insurance groups only went up to 20.
For instance, a UK turbo was always group 17 whereas a JDM STI was a 20.

They changed the insurance groups a little while ago. A lot of dealers etc still quote the old insurance groups though.

Not any more.

The 1-50 makes it easier to fine tune the groups, but most specialist insurers concentrate on experience and postcodes rather than the group of car TBH.

is it true that most insurance companies require 1 year of high performance experience to be in the same car to give a specialist quote?

i have been driving permormance cars for about 3 years but change car approx every 9 months is this likely why i still cant get it under £2400 for my m3 im 25 with 4ncb

Hey moley, have you managed to insure other 17/18 year olds on subarus? like i say, im not bothered about turbos.... roughly what are the prices?

i would be prepared to drive a 1998-2000 scooby i can wait while driving one of them

would love a reply Cheers

a-plan wouldn't insure my step dad on an imported wrx even though he has over 20 years no claims. reason they gave was no previous and recent experience of driving a performance car.

have my modified P1 insured through moley and I'm 26 with 4 ncb, it's massively lower than £2,4k. i told him my previous performance car experience. didn't know if it was necessary but i told him anyway for good measure.

It can be done, but the price would be silly (£5k+)

Better off waiting untill you're 19 and getting a 2.0 Sport

Apparently some companies charge you more for a hatch/wagon because its an extra door to be able to get in to the car

Different insurers use different lists/groups. Well that's what Aviva told me anyway.

what the hell :') oh yeah mam, if you wouldnt mind just getting in the car through the boot, back doors are a bit squeeky :') im sure insurance companies just chop a chickens head off let them run around on a big board of numbers and see what number it lands on to decide a insurance group :P

yeah i've been on some comparisons sites and they wont insure me with me as the policy holer due to age, wouldnt even come back with a quote except asda and debenhams with £71k haha, with me as a named driver and my dad as a policy holder they wouldnt give me a sensible quote till i changed my age to 19 and they were giving me £5000/£6000 quotes on a 2000 sport, sad sad day

Comparison sites are ****e! They never give you proper insurance quotes and you always have to phone up the company to get a true quote anyway, so a waste of time they are
