Default I brought one! 2004 JDM STi **pics**

Hi Guys,

I found one local to me. What do you think?

Imported new in 2004,

Bodywork is MINT not a dink on it, engine bay is abit grubby but nothing i cant sort. Completely standard which i guess is rare for a JDM.

Collect at 5pm today insurance all sorted!

I was looking for a Jap one as i was told they are the better one to go for stronger engine turbo etc i hope that it correct if someone can fill me in with some more info on the car that would be great as i know my stuff when it comes to classics but new age i have not really looked into much.

Let the fun begin

Nice. Those JDM's do go very well. Need a remap I would say for UK fuel, and a heap more power... 350 easy

Very nice looks near standard

Yes stronger engine and twin scroll turbo

Put a cat back system and a remap 350bhp ish and awesome

But I would be suprised with that milliage that it's already been remapped IMHO

Looks a nice example.... and certainly "looks" standard, even down to the original STI backbox (by the looks of it).

There are a few differences between yours and a JDM Hawkeye, but nothing too spectacular. However you may have the Spec C diff on yours, which is a bonus, but I'm not 100% sure if that was put on all MY05 JDM STI's or just the last lot of the JDM STI Blobeye's.

If you want some information on what you can do look at my Project Thread (link given in my signature). The "handling" bits (if you have the Spec C diff) maybe slightly different, but you can get a general idea.

Looks very good same as mine and can agree very hard to find a my05 near standard, mine had done 48k on original map but always run on v power. No knock at all and was better on fuel than my old my03 wrx uk car. The lack of burble and almost to smooth power delivery took a while to get used to, I just fitted a cat back stainless exhaust and had a uk fuel map done with a 3 port boost solenoid to be on the safe side. But you will soon get used to it they are superb cars and worth every penny over the uk ones, enjoy it

On the subject of the one in the link seems to cheap and with new engine and turbo make sure it has correct jdm parts fitted as this is the biggest difference between them, I also dont like the rear skirt at all but this could be easily resolved

Nice car! I had an 05 uk sti and now have a hawk sti jdm, much better in my opinion, although I did miss the uk burble but once you open the taps on the jdm you soon forget about it

Thanks for the comments guys,

What can i say collected it at 5pm and spend all night driving about getting used to it WOW what a car! I have never driven a standard car like it total awesome,

The performance is amazing! and i love all the little extra interior toys like the Diff control on the dash, the way all the dials move when you turn it on. the STi on the dash lighting up pink lol little things like that make the car that bit more fun.

Also found out that she is still limited! I wanted to do the odd track day once i have done a few things and this is not good lol how can i have this removed?

All in all love it and cant stop looking out the window today looking at it

Any decent speciallist can remove the limiter, and just to note that the service intervals on these JDM's are 7.5k miles/6 monthly, as per classics

Get it EcuTek remapped with the MegaROM coding, it's so much better than stock.
