cleaning discs?
The wife's car is due for MOT in a couple of weeks. Last year the mechanic pointed out that the rear discs were begining to rust slightly, but said they might clean up fine for next year.
Any ideas of the best way to do this?
Cheers.

The simplest way is to go for a drive and give them a good workout.
When you approach a junction ride the handbrake slightly once you've slowed up a bit.(just make sure nobody's right behind you.)
You could find an empty car park or simply find an empty road, get some speed up and do a few brisk stops.
You could also take the discs off and get some wet and dry to clean them up.
Danny.

As above, a pair of rear discs can be had very cheap. I had a pair of Black Panther drilled and grooved from '2fast2Cool.com'. I was very surprised at the quality and cost me just £50 delivered.
ah........just noticed you mentioned rear disks......mine came from Alyn at www.asperformance.com cheaper than Matty's

Check if you handbrake operates the caliper before you go yanking on it, as some scoobies have brake shoes as well as pads on the rear! In which case you can yank on that e-brake all you want but it won't clean the disk!
