Personally I wouldnt have one unless I was running close to 400bhp(personal choice). You wont see that much gain in power, but you will notice a slightly more lag(from what I have noticed over a TMIC) and I would advise to get it mapped once fitted like any modifications that you put on your car to get the most from it!!!

I agree with Jeff on this. Comparing my old standardish UK turbo with his 2.5 UK turbo, there isn't much difference in lag at all. The kick is more progressive but the shear low down torque of the 2.5 over the 2.0 irradicates this lag myth. As said, closer to 350-400 ponies and it's more necessary

So all that extra pipework for a FMIC doesnt make a difference??? So how come people do reversed Inlets and shorten intercooler Piping????
On a STi with a standard turbo(eg VF23, VF24 etc) and you add a FMIC, you saying there is no extra lag from a STi with the same turbo and TMIC.
I noticed a difference from My STi 6 with VF35 and STi TMIC, and my brothers STi 4 with VF35 and FMIC with the same mods, My STi 6 would boost slightly quicker!!!
