Default dont waste your time on this one

Just a quick heads up:

Went to look at http://pistonheads.com/sales/2894066.htm for a fellow WMI member last night.

Drove a total of 300miles. What a complete pile of rubbish

Cracking rare car but........

no oil in the engine bay (and i mean empty)
(he admitted to doing 700 miles like this)

car is covered in dents and scratches/key scrape down the whole side (even though we asked about this on the phone and we was told it was mint)

trying to convince me that the cambelt was done, despite no evidence/receipts at all showing it has. Cambelt didnt look new.

car has had a slight rear end shunt as the bootlid does not sit right and or even open properly !

car does not have a ppp certificate despite being told on the phone it does (turns out the car does not have the power upgrade pack)

and to top it the guy had the biggest attitude I have ever seen, he also wanted us to buy his stereo at a cost of £500 (what he paid for it months back)

Why do such cars end up in the hands of muppets like this

Rant over

That's what being a Scooby owner does to some people. I have seen it before
They think there the business because they own such an awesome car

Same Here.... Was looking at getting a Calibra, was back in 2000... Advertised as mint, leather interior... Sounded good in the advert. Turned out, he used a different cars photo and the leather interior was a leather seat... Yep, just ONE leather seat, the drivers one...

Drove away and didnt even speak to the guy

i drove 100 miles to view a 1 series beemer for my mate , it stated immaculate in the advert, as i pulled near i was looking for this immaculate car but i could only see a right dented 1 series with a wing which looked like it had been sprayed with a spray can and had clearly been in a shunt , i rang the guy to ask him where this immaculate car was , he said the one outside my house..... i told him he was a c&nt and drove back 100miles

what a waste of time !! some peoples perception of immaculate amazes me

Looking at the pic's and what he said most of us would of had a look at this, sound a nice one.

Before I bought my RB5 I looked at 4 of them, all the owners said it was better than it was. One of them I done a 600 mile round trip

Okay thanks for the heads up mate wished there was a lot more posts like yours could be a very handy thing to save a few folk a long drive !!

best story I ever heard years ago was a white Vauxhall Nova GTE advertised in the local autotrader, described as totally mint, two owner car complete with sunroof, the guy who went to view it got to the guys address only to see what appeared to be a standard but badly bashed vauxhall nova with a couple off gte related spoilers stuck on which had not even been colour coded !! was about to drive away when the seller came rushing out off house and stopped him to say whats the problem ??!!!

mate said to him its not even a gte why advertise it as such ?? with the bits added its as good as he said !!!! asked why there was not even a sunroof on it even after being described in the advert that there was, he once more replied " well was thinking off fitting one before I put the car up for sale " !!!

why advertise it as mint condition mate asked ??

it is he said youve not even had a good look around it the seller replied !!

at that the viewer sped away !!!!

A friend of mine is into his old rolls royce's.A few years ago we went to look at an old one,not sure which model.Something from the 60's ish.
Fair play it did look mint and all my mate kept going on about was it only had around 30,000 on the clock.
After a few weeks I popped round there and he was just sat in it,in a bad mood.It turned out when he took the clocks out to check something out, someone had wrote on the back,"oh no,not again" on the speedo in black marker pen.

I've never had this, but saying that you can normally tell if there abit dodgy on the phone. Spec dodgy dealers with only mobile number.

Class, i bet he was so p1ssed off..

I like most, have looked at loads of cars, and it still amazes me that some people will do and say anything to get you there to look at their shed.

It's as if they think you will be deaf, dumb and blind and just give them your hard earned, and drive off into the sunset with a big smile on your face.

tbh at the price he was asking I was expecting a nice example.

Im all for trying to assist the market, why should we lower the price of our own cars, seems daft. An sti7 should be worth the equivelant of an Evo6/7 imho

but this guy was a class 1 dreamer lol
