Hell no, local motor factor for little bits. I do admit to having some halfords pro spanners and 2 of their torque wrenches though....... good they are too.
Rip offs though for anything else.

With the discount on their trade card, I figure the public are funding it.
When they do 3 for 2 on consumables, they more or less match other stockists or on-line sellers, which is the only time I go there.

Their pricing makes no sense at all. Was in Tescos and 325ml of Autoglym super resin polish £11.00, I thought no was I am paying that. Went to Halfords and fair enough 325ml was £10.99 but 500ml was 11.99 and 1L was £15.99, So I now have enough polish to last me a lifetime. It was 3 for 2 as well but resisted buying stuff I didn't need. Cracking price for a litre of the stuff but who wants a litre all in one go!!!!!!

the best thing about Halfrauds is that they are open on a Sunday and are handy to pop into when you realise you haven't got something that you need to finish doing what you are doing, admitted they are dear for most things but are handy sometimes, also their "experts" will offer to fit part's for you

i use halfruads quite a bit. but i take me little bro along and use his trade card. it shows how much they mark everything up as we have had over 75% off of the shelf price with the trade card at times.

As above Halfords is great with a trade card, particularly on a Sunday when no where else is open! Shame they don't do a better range of fixings, but otherwise they've got a pretty good stock of stuff I find, not as 'dumbed down' as they could be.
Wilkinsons do Comma brake fluid for under £3 though, think it's probably only a 500ml tub but that's enough for most purposes.

That said, although the prices are fairly good for what they sell, the range is very small. Which is a shame.
The thing with Halfords is, they are convenient/handy. Sunday/late opening certainly helps along with the fact they have a fairly good range of stock. Sadly, with that comes inflated prices. I also have to say on recent experience, customer service leaves a little to be desired (and I rarely ever expect help in a shop) considering I work in retail myself and know what is expected of us. But that is another thread entirely.
