English 101!
I just wanted to politely remind everyone, that the correct word to use when describing a purchase, is 'bought' and not 'brought'. Thank you.

Wheniwerealad.
And i first came on to the board, i was guilty of not using commas and full stops, and not breaking my posts up into paragraphs.
It was kindly pointed out to me that it makes it difficult to read and causes one to loose track of a sentence, which i went back and looked at and agreed with so i ajusted my style.
As for the text speak, and abbreviations, which can irritate the **** out of me!
Not all of us are up to speed with the latest ones and it spoils the read when you have to sit there trying to figure out what someone is trying to say.
My spelling is not fantastic but it's not as if were talking quantum physics on here so a little effort goes a long way.
And it does improve ones mind..

All we are trying to do is communicate. If unusual spelling., punctuation and grammar makes it more difficult to get the message across clearly it's a waste of time writing it in the first place. Innit.

Ha,ha,ha Everyone's scrutinizing everyone elses posts for spelling and grammatical gaffs!
Seriously though, my last few years as a lecturer in a college of FE was spent teaching kids who had, for whatever reason, been taken out of school to finish their secondary education with us. To the majority of them, text speak WAS the English language and would appear on any written work. With me at least, they would be warned for this, and I taught maths!

I am totally with you! I wish people would learn to spell. It's not like this forum is full of kids. There's not even a lot of foreigners here, most of them have better English anyway.
