new owner...
hey guys,
thought i'd get signed up and get involved. ive already introduced myself on the middlesex owners section but thought i'd show my face on the main board too.
i'd been in the market for a scooby for a few months and after viewing 10 or so and being messed around more than once, i found one i thought might be worth a punt. i'd been after a blob but the bug i'd found had all the bits i wanted as a base to start modding and i could see past its front end styling.
went up to aylesbury and viewed it, loved the drive (felt tighter than most i'd driven) and after a bit of haggling - i stole it of the guy.
he had no idea about the car at all. i had a good look through the paperwork and spotted some bits that he didnt mention. he'd bought it as a weekend toy last year but hadnt really driven it. here it is:

Nice car and spec. I personally would ditch the idea of an fmic and the boost controller and use the cash for a larger turbo and an Sti tmic as with the other planned mods you would see around 340bhp.
I believe that an fmic isn't needed unless going for around 400bhp by which time you would need a 6 speed gearbox as the standard one will die rapidly at that kind of power. You wod also need an induction kit with the fmic.

the fmic is really just to make the front end look a bit more aggressive tbh.
adding an induction kit is no problem, just another item on the shopping list.
a new clutch is also on the list as its on its way out.
the car is really nice to drive, very comfortable and well specced for a 10 year old car. i'm finding it quite good on the MPG stakes too which is a nice suprise.
all good when considering it was just over £3k to buy, and is cheaper to insure than my FTO.
