Hi i', looking to upgrade my brakes, but not sure what to go for.
I don't want to spend to much, 2nd hand set of calipers will do fine, i have a 1998 impreza 2000 turbo, don't want anything that mean's i will have to chage my alloys any advice would be good thanks

I upgraded my MY98 to 4-pots (front) and 2-pots from a MY03 WRX (rear) along with braided hoses and 5.1 brake fluid.
No problems with the alloys.
Not an expensive upgrade but works far more better than the stock MY98 brakes.
Cheers,
Andy

Better uprated discs for the fron and get some Newage two pots and a upgrade disc and bracket kit from Ian Godney at Godspeed. Minimal work but a great set up.
have a look in my garage at the rear brake kit from Ian
Diolch!

What alloys do you actually have,do you have the OE ones or aftermarket ones?
As everybody else has said go for 4 pots up front, personally wouldn't worry about the rears.
May also be worth refurbing the 4 pots (if you do get them),I recently had a set done with Godspeeds stainless steel pistons and they are better especially the intial bite.

He posts on here as Ian Godney he can tell you exactly what you need.
Not sure if you can put your old 2 pots on the rear (if i'm understanding you correctly) as the 2 pots that people are refering to actually come off the the rear of other models (my Type R has 4 pots on the front and 2 pots on the rear as standard)
tbh you may be able to fit Brembos under yopur wheels but they are expensive (a lot more than 4 pots)

Gold brembos work well with braided lines, decent discs and pads, not sure if they will fit under superleggeras though, might be worth speaking tonalloy wheel company and see if they can advise you regardingfitment.

They're single pot rears Jay.
4 pots fronts and 2 pot rears are a good upgrade from what you have.

Decent pads will be key. 4 Pots front and 1 pot rear are fine.
These are very good: http://www.superhids.co.uk/brakes/br...road-pads.html

On MY97 Uk
4 pot front with stainless pistons
1 pot rear with stainless pistons and vented discs (original solids faded too easy with 4 pot front)
Goodridge hoses all round
Godspeed grooved discs with Kevlar pads (£200 all in), more than adequate for fast road use.
