Default subaru impreza sticking brakes

hi all i have a subaru impreza 1997 sport but put 2 pot clapers on the back and have 2 pot on the front but upgrading soon at the moment the front brakes stick on when you brake and if you tap the brake thay unstick anyone know why this is happing m.o.t on the 2/6/2011

I had the same problem with mine. It's the inside of the brake hoses fraying so the fluid can pass through but not return. You will need some new hoses.

iv put Stainless Steel Braided Brake lines on it thinking it was that could it be the copper pipe going to the front brake or the servo and sorry its only the passagner side

Remove the passenger side caliper, lift the seals alittle from the piston & spray some WD in there. Then push the pistons back with a G clamp or pipe plyers, remove the pads and rub the friction part of the pad on some 180 sand paper to clean.Then Clean with a wire brush were the pads sit in the caliper carrier, copper grease the pads back up and build back together. This is what we used to do for sticky brakes on Mot failures.

Had sticking brakes on my last evo and my current scoob, brake frees if you tap pedal. Everything was replaced on the evo and it still stuck and so far nobody has cured the scoobs issue. Like I keep saying over and over again, there aren't many top notch Jap tuners in the north.

Every problem I get it has to go through the hands of 4-5 garages.

Your brakes need a refirb same problem put me in a spin, so be carefull.

Id get onto ian at godspeed if i were you, he's the man as far as scooby brakes are concerned.

Look no further.............

iv refirbed the brakes and still have the problem but iv been told it could be the abs pump so im off to see the subaru wizzard to morrow
