I replied to an ad in the wanted section placed from Essexdon for a decat centre section.

He was quite happy with the pics and price so I aked him for his email address and Id send him an invoice from my merchant account.

Invoice was sent but not paid.

Turns out he copied the email address he received the invoice from, pasted it into the 'send money'' link on his paypal account and sent the money to it?

To make matters worse, he sent it as a gift so cant even claim it back.

I dont have any login or password details for this account anymore as I stopped using it years ago. Tried logging in but failed and cant even remember the security question answers.

I feel pretty bad for the guy but what can I do? I havent been paid for the part but he has paid for it????

sorry but this is one of the reasons I dont use paypal. I point blank refuse to sent anything like that over the internet to luxemburg or anywhere else. God knows what could happen

I dont know as it was sent as a gift.

Best bet is both of you contact paypal explaining what has happened from the email addresses in question. Paypal should be able to help from then on

Ring paypal helpline. They are very helpful and I'm sure they will sort it for you. I recently had a similar problem and it was all sorted within a 10 minute phone call.

i had a similar problem but was told to wait 30 days and if its not claimed then it bouces back to the payer.. which it did
