Default IMPREZA ROAD TAX

Ive sold my Bugeye STI JDM so am now looking at getting either a late blob sti, late blob Spec C or Hawkeye STI. They have to be a JDM.

Ive just been talking to a good mate of mine who asked why I would be wanting a Hawkeye JDM as the is nealry no difference between a uk hawk and a JDM apart for a uk is a 2.5. I said one of the reasons for going for a JDM is the road tax of which he said the road tax cost has changed so cars registered in and before 2006 now pay the old road tax amount of around £200.

Is this right?

OH so a 2005 or early 06 car you would still pay over £400 a year road tax?

Your mate sounds like he's saying there is a 'small' difference between the JDM 2.0 and the UK 2.5 engines.........the difference is massive, night and day difference! That's exactly why people buy a jdm over a uk car, for the engine!

I have an MY05 jdm and pay £205 for 12 months road tax.

I know there is a big difference in engines as does he but its all the other stuff you get on a Hawk JDM compared to a Hawk UK.

What are early UK hawkeye owners paying in roadtax?

If emissions where put down when registered then tax same as uk car of same registration date, but some where registered with no co2 stated and are taxed as plg so based on engine size only. My my05 jdm was £205 last year but think gone up to £215 now. I don't know why some where registered with co2 quoted and some without. But the road tax is a small part of the running costs.
