The add is below.

47,000 miles, 2005 Subaru Impreza Sti, but this is not your standard everyday Sti! 2ltr semi closed block fully forged with billet steel crank, 'H' section conrods, Mahle pistons, Acl race bearings, Arp bolts, full adjustable coilovers, oz ultraleggia wheels, custom leather interior etc etc. Over £12000 spent on modifacations alone. Contact for full spec. Car is on a cat D (2006 light frontal) Car is currently running between 420-440bhp at 1.0 bar of boost, with injectors at 56.0% so there is plenty of scope to turn boost up to 1.5 bar safely (470-500bhp). The Link ecu has anti-lag, launch control and flat shifting althought I have not enabled these yet. The car is showing just under 47,000 miles with 9,000 miles on the new forged engine and has been service by myself every 6 months using PFR7B plugs and Fuch Titan race pro S. This has been my project for the last 12 months. No canvassers. Offers???. £8,500 Price reduced.

To be honest if damaged, it should be a lot less. As it could cost quite a bit to sort.

No chance £9k can get you a lot off nice cars now and without commming with a big story, besides why are they always described as light damage - take it this is all a cat D could actually be ??

I bought a cat D 335 estate still in its damaged state, it drives good, but it will cost me £4K to put right, >> I would only buy one if i could see proof of before and after, if the damage was not bad the owner may have proof (photos) good luck anyway.

personally if the insurance company thinks its worth less than the cost of repairs i'd stay away, obviously the guy has been paid out by the insurers, bought it back for 10% of the payout (i think thats what it costs to buy back) and wants to make more money off it

The car is not worth £9K, nowhere near buddy. At a push, and if the car is MINT with perfect history them it's worth £7K. Me, personally, knowing how the market is for these things, I wouldnt pay anymore than £6K for it. I recently sold a 2005 JDM STI (non cat car) with perfect history for £6.5K.

I'd also be interested to know what turbo he's using to make 440 at 1bar boost. Smells like bull **** to me fella....
