Recommend me an exhaust system.. :)
My wagon currently has a prodrive back box but i'm looking to change it soon as i'm planning to have it mapped over the next few months.... would like a new system but something that'll still get through an MOT so a sports cat would be ideal.. i want it to look similar to the prodrive back box too not a huge fooking 20" end pipe!!!
any suggestions? i live in the north east not far from Revolution motorsports and have seen their own stainless system, anyone tried that one out?

You can pick up a prodrive sports cat for less than a £100 on either ebay or here Maybe you should try swapping out the centre pipe and losing the resonater if you only want slighter louder system.

I went from a Double 'S' Ehausts 4 '' (very nice loud sound too) http://www.stainlesssteelexhausts.com/classic-cars.html
to a Miltek 3" sports cat full system ( not as loud but a very nice more purposfull tone) http://www.millteksport.com/products....cfm?makeid=17

That cuts the afterburner vortex out straight away then ,as the std prodrive system is 3 inches in diameter and the vortex is a whopping 50% bigger at 4.5 inches .As suggested haywood & scott make a good range of backboxes, but for the size your looking at it would be the racebox from scoobyworld, :

But in all fairness it does not sound a great deal different from the std prodrive unit in all honesty. So why not get a sports cat and straight through centre section,as this wont effect your prodrive noisewise by that much.

I like it shaun ,me too i have a old folks home 20 yds from my front door, but never had a single complaint in 2 yrs running an afterburner vortex straight through with decat .I do use the bung though early in the morning and was starting to believe that maybe half of them were deaf ,till my mate turned up one evening with a blitz nur spec r rattling there window frames . The very next morning i had an 82 yr old resident knocking my door complaining about the noise ,he has since gone on to sell the blitz and bought an afterburner vortex.

Would agree with you totally as I have had a vortex on each of my imprezas, and imho they sound awesome .I recently fitted one to mates 1995 wrx,but left the centre resonator on and it was surprising how much that cut down some of the noise,no way near as loud as mine, but if the o/p does not want a huge tailpipe then maybe stay with the prodrive and get centre decat section imho, it won't be to loud and will still pass an mot & after the remap should still give decent power.
A lad who recently had a MY 00 wagon had his car mapped with a decat downpipe , straight through centre & a std sti backbox for the very same reasons as the op.his car still made 319 bhp 316 lb/ft and kept the original look.

Had a full decat Revolution system on my old car, it was nice around the houses and gave a nice deep burble when you opened it up.
Full 3" stainless steel and they have full fitting capabilities on site.
You could be a bit bold and ask for a discount cos Richie Wong on Scoobynet told you to do so
