Thumbs down Anyone got a spare classic exhaust lying around?

Need it to pass MOT my custom 3" s/steel won't take a cat and if anyone has a spare please let me know. Just to pass a sodding MOT cos it failed on emissions. Then obviously put the s/steel one back on.

Tried ebay but not many around...

Thanks peeps

Oh I was recommended this guy as a friendly MOT tester...

I believe I have the complete twin-peashooter exhaust (3 sections, 2 Cats) from my old MY00 classic which was taken off at 30000 miles.
If you want that and I do have it then the whole lot is yours for £50 plus postage and packing, if that doesn't make it too costly for you.

Any less than £50 kind of de-motivates me in view of the hassle involved in posting and packing etc as I don't really need the money but am happy to see it help someone out (which it isn't doing in my loft). Shame you aren't nearer ( Ely, Cambs ) so you could collect. Seems a shame to dump it later, whenever that happens.

Thanks Kevin I've been quoted £20 for exhaust courier for exhaust up to 2.5m long (which I think is ok) however I will keep you posted. It's a shame as I have no access to another car either at the moment.

That had occurred to me also. The standard cat in the downpipe should be more than adequate to pass the MOT as some people manage to get through with only the centre cat fitted (although this is very hit and miss and often involves testing when hot).
So it may be that your existing cat is weak already.

Just been told even if I borrow an exhaust and then request to put old one back on after MOT they may not do it for me as it is a MOT illegal exhaust (3" straight through) and therefore take it somewhere else?
