When I had my '55 plate scoob, the boot was very light so was probably aluminium (and most likely other parts as well)

If I want to chop off the weight (without emptying the car of seats/carpets, all the nice things that make it a daily driver) would carbon be the way to go?

I quite fancy a carbon bonnet and although the looks alone have sold it for me, what sort of weight difference would there be?

 

I got my blobeye weighed on my local weighbridge recently and it was 1460kg without the fat driver.

 

The increase in weight of the newer cars is largely down to the inclusion of safety features.

Newage sti is a 100kg heavier because of the 6 speed box and reinforced shell.Wrx less as only a 5 speed so you can wack a sack of spuds in the back and still be lighter than the sti
