Default RE-MAP mpg gains????????

Hi all just got my first scooby. Its a 2001 wrx,The only mods i have are as follows.
bailey dv12 dump valve
afterburner cat pipe
afterburner centre section
afterburner vortex angled back box.

I have no idea what kind of gains these mods give the car? anybody have an idea??
But my real question is will a re-map help with fuel economy? and what the costs of a remap are. At the moment i am not rally bothered about any power increase although i am sure that would be nice.
Based in Doncaster.

Cheers Ginerbolox.

i would lose the dump valve mate as the can effect the way the car runs. You are looking at around 260bhp with them mods depending on how well the car has been looked after and if it's upto the task of running higher boost Speak to Duncan at Race dynamix about a OS map which costs around £350.

Mine was overfuelling when I bought it so I got it remapped to sort it out. The problem was, I went from 285 to 340 bhp so I automatically use more fuel anyway

Hi Ginerbolox for remap, you have two options like OS(Open Source),this do Rich@FB Tuning,Graham@EngineMapper,Neil@Slowboy Racing or Duncan@Race Dynamix, price for OS is from £250-£350 or EcuTek price is higher £550 and this will do Simon@JGM,Bob Rawle,Andy F etc.
With your mods you will maybe push around 260-280bhp,but i would recommend fit uprated panel filter(K&N,Green Cotton),3 port boost solenoid(this leave on mapper) and new fuel pump and you should achieve this BHP.
Sometimes help remap reduce MPG(in my view yes and on my car MPG is now better),but at start i would say Subaru is not good car for people which want save money on fuel, second option will be LPG

Welcome to Scoobynet and enjoy staying here.

The car won't make 260 bhp without a remap...

You have no idea if it's rich or lean, or if the boost control is optimal ?

Can you afford a rebuild ?

dunx

P.S. A re-map will help your fuel consumption... you should have bought a diesel.

Just had the sti mapped by Richard at Tractive Solutions and he has taken it from about 300/290 to 350/350 and my fuel consumption has improved quite a bit, 30 - 40 miles per tank. Had headers and up-pipe change, plus new milltek resonator and silencer, kept the prodrive downpipe, everything else is standard.

a remap will help a little bit with mpg, depending on how you drive it, you'll see a slight improvement on long motorway runs etc. Although as your car will be quicker after the map you'll use more fuel enjoying the extra power, best way to improve mpg is with your right foot

Thanks for the replies guys.Im not really interested in any bhp increases, its plenty quick enough for me.Just thought that with the mods added a re-map would help make best use of those mods.I realise a car like this will consume more fuel than a regular car but just heard somewhere that re-maps helped consumption. Not sure if its running rich or not put £40 in it and it looks like hitting somewhere around 150 miles for that. But i have only just got it so my right foot may have been a bit heavy, when the novelty wears off im sure i will get a few more miles to the gallon.

Thanks guys
