Hi,
i am going to decat the 2nd cat (please correct me if im wrong its the one after the down pipe) and wanting to no if this will increase the exhaust noise at all? i already have a single box system which is rather quiet so was hoping this will help. i no a full decat increases the noise but woundered if just this one will make a difference.

there is two in the downpipe, one further up and one further down. then one in the pipe after the downpipe, also known as centre pipe, then backbox. if you are on about 2nd cat in downpipe then the answer is, no not much, if you are on about the centre pipe, then yes, more so the deepness of the sound then the loudness.

If you have a newage there are three cats,one in the uppipe and 2 in the 2 piece downpipe,the centre section hasnt got one but going with a straight through pipe will sound better.

yeh im on about the one after the down pipe which as the O2 sensor in it. i already got a de resonated (if thats what you call it) centre pipe.
so if the cat with the o2 sensor in it is decatted i will get more noise?

sorry, yeah, my mistake, its not a cat in the centre pipe, its a resonator, which quietens down the sound of the car, just incase i confused you, there isn't one in the backbox either.

I would have thought you will as the cat will silence it a bit not sure how much though.
