Default Best place to buy tyres in southwest.

Hi guys, I was recently going to buy a nice set of wheels and tyres off of Wrx53 (Stu) but have had to look at putting that on hold due to it being a little too much at the moment.

I am happy to stay with the standard gold alloys for the time being but the tyres need replacing asap. Are there any garages in the southwest that anyone can recommend without spending an **** load.

Ive got a budget around 400 to spend but less would be better, so any ideas of a good set of all round tyres fitted from a garage in the southwest?

Sorry for the dumb questions, I just want to look after this Subaru and it has to start somewhere

Thanks all

I brought mine from camskill online and paid £10 a corner to get them fitted. There prices are one of the cheapest , if your prepared to go the online route.

Thank you all very much for your advice. I genuinely appreciate the help. I have been worried about buying my first Subaru since everyone seems to be selling up because of the ridiculous prices for maintaining hi performance cars etc. Great to see theres so local guys around my area too

Any Bristol meets etc soon or anything you guys recommend I start going too? I just north of Bristol.

Btw am I right in saying the tyre size I need to fit on the standard 17 inch gold alloys (Standard Sti wheels) are 225.45.17. Is that right?

I have been on click on tyres but what does the 'speed rating' mean?

Thanks again,
Embarrassed noob

http://www.blackcircles.com/general/speedrating

My falkens have a speed rating of Y 186MPH max speed for that tyre.

Ive got 18 inch wheels im not sure on the 17 inch size someone will reply or just look at the side of your tyres and see what is on there.
