Default How best to measure noise levels to comply with track day requirements

Hi,

I'm going on a trackday at the end of the month and I want to make sure my car complies with the 105db (driveby) noise restrictions.

I have a Magnex system fitted and it seems pretty loud to me although I've heard louder!! In fact I tested it over the weekend, using a Silverline Sound level meter (analogue) and if the reading was to be believed, as the missus drove by at about 80mph on three occasions, it hit between 100db and 106db, although the device I have doesn't give a digital readout, just a pointer on a scale.

What is the best way of testing this accurately? Can I go somewhere to get it done properley?

Also, if it is too loud, are there any options to reduce this, without replacing the backbox?

Last thing I want is to turn up on the day and not even get out on track!

Cheers,

Steve

Get a bung - I've got a powerflow exhaust and without the bung it's *very* loud, with the bung in, it's not far off the noise of the Wife's Civic. (ok, it's a little louder, but I can at least talk hands-free on the phone with it in)

What magnex exhaust have you got as im going to be booking up a track day in a couple of months after i get a few more bits fitted and mapped?
And i have also got a magnex exhaust,so im intrested to see if it would be the same noise level as yours?

I think you can get your car tested at some tracks before you book one up.
