Default Cat Bin Woman

Ok we all saw the Cat Bin Woman on the news recently and we all gasped in horror...but my neighbours cat sits on my bonnet scoop and rear spoiler every other day. Its going to the body shop on monday to respray the damage and i don't know what to do when the scooby comes back looking brand new and I see a cat sitting on my pride and joy!... I don't want to do anything irrational but the car has to stay outside in my parking bay.

What shall I do?

It's a royal pain mate I'm a cat lover and own two, but would be fuming if it was my car. Sadly they roam free if people allow them out, I don't. I'm not sure there is a lot you can do other than use a good cover for it. That said they can inflict damage as well. Although it depends on how bad the cat damage can be in comparison to the damage the cover may cause?

Catch 22 mate. My parents cat walks all over mine. Just scare it a few times and see if it works.

It is a cat with soft padded feet!! At worst it may leave dusty footprints, unless of course it is a tiger which I doubt so what is the problem?

You must have a mega crap paint job on your car if it gets damaged by a cat walking on it.

Yes but when they lose grip on a polished surface the claws come out

hey thanks there is some stuff I can work with here... i like the water pistol that really is a good idea. Also the car cover but i'll have to get one with the fleece underlining and they are 250 quid, probably worth it, then the hassle of making sure the car has no dust on it once the cover is on. I did scare the cat a few times but my 5yr old daughter caught me doing it and told her teacher...now everyone gives me funny looks in the playground!

Wurzel is correct but so is 287, if the car is polished, as it usually is they slip when they jump onto it so the claws come out, i think it would damage any car. The pad marks are annoying aswell especially just after you have spent 3 hours cleaning it! I know it sounds a bit over the top but I bought a mint car and paid extra because it was in such tip top condition so the last thing I want is cats walking on it. I must be a bad person!

Deffinately spray with water, after a few shots it'll get the message, and it's humaine.

Otherwise, cat's cant stand the smell of citric acid, so anything that smells of lemons/limes will put them off. Consequently, if they **** on your garden, putting orange/lemon etc peel down all over the place will stop them.

Much love, Alan Titchmarsh

******* cats! They should be kept on a string only as long as the owners garden. Then the owner of the cat can pick up all of it's ****.

Can we all be clear on this...is it ok to spray a cat with water in public, because to tell you the truth i'll probably do it at night when no one is watching, which actually makes me think that i shouldn't really be doing it? It can't be right?!!!

Cats are obviously very stupid. Next doors cats were constantly using our garden as a toilet. One day our greyhound caught one and killed it, has its brother learnt? No chance. Now I have to check its not there before I let the greyhound out because I cant face going and tell the owners again. Hardly fair that we have to check out our own garden before using it.
Just found this on Google. You have loads of options, but I like this one best of all.

Send the respray job bill to the cat owner with photographic evidence of cat on car and damage ....
I'm sure that'd encourage the cat owner to take responsibility or get another bill.
It realy bugs me when pet owners can't behave responsibly

voila

The wife has two Siamese cats. House rats I call them. An absolute pain in the a$$ and the most destructive things on legs. They have a killing zone which includes anything with feathers apart from the chickens, who give as good as they get. They bring in all manner of moles, voles, rats and mice as well as a selection of rabbits which get dismembered and left under my desk. Their diet once included a snake.
They attacked a neighbour and their dog as a tag team and routed the pair of them. Last thing at night I have to chase the damn things around the house to ensure they sleep in the porch, or the place gets trashed overnight.
Then they sit on you while you're watching telly, not giving a hoot that you can't stand the sight of them and probably have an allergy.
Cats .. Pfff..

Go to the garden centre and get some citrus pellets and sprinkle them around where you park the car - cat's hate them!

If not ask Ashley Cole to pop round and shoot it for you! the cat, not the car (this is not a real suggestion btw)

alternately politely tell the owner to have the thing de clawed or you'll get it done for them

you can buy something called soft paws

http://www.softpaws.com/

Do as suggested above (send pic evidence of cat damage to owner) but also suggest these as a solution.

One of my cats insisted on sitting (and clawing) my wife's cab TT..needless to say the moleskin roof started to look very 2nd hand... so we used them...puurfik

Lots of dog training books recommend water spray as a way to train dogs not to chew furniture, so I don't think RSPCA would view it as cruelty.
