Default Engine check light obd code P0458

Hi had my engine check light come on recently so I connected my laptop and this error code was showing:

P0458 Evaporative Emission System Purge Valve Circuit Low

Cleared the fault code and all was well for a couple of days until it reappeared.

Has anybody else come accross this before? Or can the point my in the direction of where the offending component is? Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers Ade

Some links which may help – maybe the sensor just needs to be removed / cleaned and refitted making sure that electrical connections are working.

Otherwise see if you can track down a secondhand replacement

Hi cheers I've found where the sensor is on the engine and will try cleaning it and then check for power etc. If not I will try and hunt down a secondhand replacement. Subaru want £160 + vat!

Cheers again Ade
