Talking New to ScoobyNet

Hey all, I'm just checking in as a new member to the forums.

I picked up my 2005 blobeye Sti last weekend and have had a permanent smile on my face since (well nearly). Having previously driven an rx8 and before that an fto, I was a little apprehensive about the relatively low red line on the scooby, but that turbo hit really makes up for it. OMG what a difference a turbo makes.

It's not all been plain sailing, a leaking IC water spray bottle flooding my boot, and I reckon my my power steering pump is on its way out (bit of whining during full lock and generally heavy steering). So some stuff to get sorted, but its not dampened my enthusiam

Oh and I'm from the cambridge area so will be looking out for other Scoobys on the road. So yeah, looking forward to getting to know the place!

Stan

Welcome! I had an RX8 before my Scooby. They handle well but are pretty gutless and IMHO, worse on petrol than an Impreza!

Hello mate, same car as mine, they're awesome machines!

Get a Nur Spec R exhaust on it, and see what it sounds like ;-)

Agreed, fuel economy was dire, and having to fork out for oil every couple of months just added insult to injury.

In terms of its performance I think a lot of it is psychological, the noise those rotary engines make when doing 8000rpm was immense, but then you check out the speedo and you realise despite the awesome noise, you're just not going that fast :/
