Bridgestone or not?
JGM's re-map on my Spec D has highlighted another problem for me - more power + wet weather + worn tyres = squeaky bottom time...
My RE070's are legal but don't have a huge amount of life. Do I go for more or should I change them for T1 R's or something

RE070 is a semi-slick, and almost any other tyre you fit will dissappoint you in dry conditions. It's an important component in the dry grip of your present setup.
I would suggest fitting RE050A if you want better wet performance. This tyre "mimics" the RE070 most closely.
There is new Bridgestone tyre out, what it's called RE-11, which you should consider...but I doubt wet/standing water performance is much better than the RE070.

RE050A were original fitment on the WRX and were poor in the wet compared to the likes of GSD3 I used when I binned the Bridgestones. Vredstein Sessantas are the way to go or GY assymetrics

Thanks chaps - I think I thought I might be opening a can of worms - I suppose everyone has an individual scoob and everyone drives differently. Think I will try a new set of RE070's - afterall we are gradually heading out of winter, if I don't get on with them I can change again for next winter.
