Red face

After all the trouble i have had with the car over the last couple of weeks i finally thought it was sorted, so off i went today to get a start off power figure so that i could follow my progress...
and what did i get...
222bhp and 206lb/ft torque!!!!! the graph shows a straight line up to 4200 rpm then nose dives after that.... the operator said that it might be the boost dropping off but my gauge holds 11psi..
i couldnt belive the lack of power!!!!!!!!
i'm off to cry and sulk!!!
had some mods planned this week, but seems i'm gonna have to root the fault first!!!
unhappy rob...

I do got my car rolling road very recently, at AVA near Glasgow, got excellent results due to running 7 psi of boost and running standard compression of 10.5:1 it managed 170 bhp and 179 lb/ft of torque at the flywheel with no detebation or mis-fires so not bad for a non turbo engine

Had the same problem with my MY00 PPP'd car at well lane and there is a solution
Its called the wastegate pipe, it needs cleaning along with the boost solenoid as my car hit 16psi at 4.5k then dropped to 11psi and produced 224bhp and 240lbs of torque, now fixed now flies

my in car boost gauge is showing a constant figure of 11psi??
one thing i have noticed though is that the car can sometimes hesitate on boost at around 4500rpm, when i look at the gauge it is showing 13psi and then dies to about 10psi but it takes me a second to think about looking at the boost gauge, so...
what me is thinkin, is that there may be a problem that is causing me to run high boost instead of 11-12psi and therefore causing overboost, when the car is hesitating i never think to look at the gauge straight away as it only hesitates say.. once a day!! and as it is showing 12-13psi when i look on hesitation then it might be showing ??psi when the hesitation happens??
just read through this post and i have made no sense at all!!!
i will give the solenoid ANOTHER clean out tomorrow and see....
any other ideas??

Do the wastegate pipe, thats what got mine, the solenoid wasnt that bad but id had problems keeping up with a 911 turbo before we went to well lane (older type one) after i had the car sorted by the dealer i met another 911 (new type one) who wanted to play, all i can say is that he wasnt that quick
But it does sound like the problem i had, boost peaks then just goes

couldnt wait for the weekend, just got back after cleaning all the pipes, they seemed clear of obstruction...
thinking that it might be down to the boost solenoid itself????
rob
edited to say, the boost solenoid or whats above it "clicks" when the car is revved???
