Default Fuel and my UK STi?

Hi,

Bought my MY04 UK STi (standard) today, and have a few questions on the fuelling.

Are these engines designed for uk standard fuel? Ie 95 octane? I know the imports have to have 97 and above or they die eventually. Will I ruin my engine if I put 95 in for everyday use and the odd blip on the throttle. Obviously for a day when I will drive her hard only the best 98/99 fuel will do!

Can someone give me the facts on this?

Thanks

They will take 95 but run like a bag of shte , so ive heard

ive only run mine on Shell optimax or tesco momentum

do have some octane booster just incase i need to put bogostandard in mind

afaik for them to be UK cars they need to be able to use 95 octane though?

id expect at least 3 replys before i post this from people with alot more knowledge mind

Think my previous MY05 STi Type UK said 98 octane on the filler cap!

I wouldn't run it with anything less than SUL, prefer V Power.

Do you not have an owners handbook? All sti's need super unleaded, ideally 99 octane which is either Tesco momentum or Shell v-power

Don't put 95 in it, and if you really have to then I'd say keep off boost!

I ran my 2 classics on Shell SUL
I've ran my last 3 STI's on Sainsburys SUL
We don't have the luxury of Vpower etc over in N.Ireland

Filled her up with v power and it's lovely! These things are actually quite good on fuel! I had to put 95 in it to get it home (no other pumps) it drank that! 98 v power is being sipped even in warp drive!

Why didnt someone tell me scoobies were so good years ago!?

I wasn't aware there was a 98 ron fuel ;-)

Shell/Tesco - 99
BP/Esso - 97
