To Claim or Not to Claim!
It had to happen really, had a row with the wench, went out in the car to try and calm myself down and end up sliding sideways into a small bunch of bushes! Not good.
Damage not huge, no suspension damage, wheels didnt come into contact with anything, which is a good thing.
But it looks like I am going to need a new boot lid, and spoiler.
Rear n/s/f door.
Rear quarter will need a little beating.
And the door shut is bent up a little.
Will also need the little wheel arch strip.
Of course this little lot will need painting.
Got 7 years no claims and I dont really want to **** that away.
What do we all think will be the worst this will cost to be sorted.
I reckon about £2.5k
Your thoughts please.
Will add some photos shortly.

Never go out in the car go to the pub instead or the cinema or pop to the curry house and have a hot one to cool you down! Works out alot cheaper than driving and having a crash
Now I would go see about getting a quote tomorrow, it may cost more than 2.5k, parts should be ok but still the price has just gone up on them by 12%

Here are some pictures.
Just had another good look and its not as bad as it seems, at least thats what I keep telling myself, lol.
I have the money to repair it. I dont think I have a protected no claims, so I think its just a case of having to spend the cash and get it sorted as soon as possible.
Also the last thing I want is for the car to get cat d!

Those pics bring a tear to my eye, gutted for you
LOL... as soon as any claim goes against your name your premium goes up (but it would go up considerably more if you don't have protected NCB and its your fault). In my case some dizzy bird drove into my wife's car in a car park, i was using the car but it was parked up , engine off and i wasn't even in the damn thing yet my premiums have gone up. Try this with online quotes and see what a none fault claim does to your premiums (and will do for the next 3 years!), simply because a claim is against your name insurers use it as an excuse to load your premium. They are all criminals, thieving b*stards

Looks like a bit more than brushing a bush, did you spin off and hit a tree down the side of a gulch?
Side damage is very visible, also the boot lid looks a little out as well from looking at the photo.

Even if you don't claim you have to tell them of any accidents - even if they weren't your fault. They will use this as an excuse to increase your premium even if you pay for the damage yourself. If you don't tell them they will use it as an excuse to avoid paying future claims. In your position I would probably claim.
I've had two non-fault accidents in the last two years - one where someone reversed out of a parking space into the side of my car, and one where someone ran into the back of me while I was stationary at the back of a queue of cars. Both have been completely settled with the other party's insurance bearing all costs, but my insurance has nearly doubled over those two years (and I pay for protected no claims which currently stands at 10 years).
The problem is that you have to legally declare any accidents, and their risk tables say that any accidents (regardless of fault) imply you are more likely to make a future claim, so they charge you more. You could argue that there are many other factors that are more significant (being in a stormy relationship for example) but they are not legally allowed to ask this when you apply for insurance.

insurance is there for a reason, so claim
if it goes uneconomical to repair then buy back the salvage, you would make a tidy profit which more than covers any potential increase in premiums.
gutted for ya

£3k to repair however the insurance mght even right it off and just pay you out as the rear quarter is quite bad.
Your boot spoiler is a spec c ali and will have to come from Japan along wth all the other parts If i were you I would claim get it written off and buy it back of them for 5k.

Your ins will go up after a claim regardless of protected ncb, but it ain't gonna go up £2.5k or anything even close to that. I understand you not wanting to claim but to pay £2.5k out of your own pocket is just madness!
