Default Sooooo, the RS500 is brilliant.........

.............soooooo much fun to drive, excellent, so much grip..........
But a full 3 seconds slower round the top gear track than the Cosworth CS400.

And what WAS Clarkson doing? Foot down in 5th at 60 and nothing? So CHANGE DOWN you moron.

I'd have LOVED to have seen the track test done on the day The Scoob was tested, when the track was so wet it was almost under water.

Should have tested both in wet and dry to get a proper opinion - he did slate the cossie even though like you say it beat the focus hands down by a full 3 secs

He was basically showing you that there is naff all down low and its a laggy pile of poo
Try a Litchfield LM turbo'd car with 420bhp doing the same thing but from 40mph in 6th, I bet it picks up virtually instantaniously

But did you see where the GT3 was only 0.1 s quicker than the Cossie, in the wet as well !

dunx

P.S. Last time I looked, I still expect lag at 90 mph in top gear... @ Elvington !

It was a far gone conclusion that Clarkson was going to love the ford over the subaru.

He doesn't, but allegedly, his bank balance does.

Same with Auto Express.

The volvo was a proto type that's like putting the gobbstopper in the mix lol
Half the trick stuff on that would be lost in production

Don't forget the Cossie also whooped the RS in the straight line drag race.

(Just beaten by the C30, but as said, not a production car.)

Different engine in the Volvo (apparently)
RS uses T5 engine, with stronger rods, pistons etc.
Polestar C30 uses complete stronger internals and engine block slightly different.

BTW, if anyones interested the C30 unofficial lap time was 1.27.4 (according to a fella from Volvo UK on Volvo owners club).
