NEED YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS CAR ??
Hi ppl
Just wanted ppls thoughts on this car, Ive got a 52 plate Bug and my bro used to have a T2000 a few yrs back, anyway my bro drove mine the other day and hes got the Bug again and wants one after owningg a Golf gti for a few yrs, We`ve seen this one on autotrader and wanted ppls thoughts.

I know its had a few mods but thats exactly what he wants so he doesnt have to mess about doing it plus the expence.
Does anyone on here know whos car it is or recognise it ?
Cheers
Rich

Thats a good price and i have seen the bugs sell for that so i wouldnt be too concerned that it was too cheap.
Just make sure you give it a good going over and check through its history and receipts to back up what the owner is claiming(mods and servicing etc)

Im sometimes a lil sceptical of things that look too good to be true and this to me did but as you all say if the servicing matches up with mots etc and has all paper work to match the mods then it is a good deal, specially if he can get a few hundred quid off 2 as you do when you by a car cash.
Are there any tell tale signs for the clutch going other than the usual slip (is there a way to test it ??) also is there a test that you can do to check headgasket(i know to check oil filler cap and water cap)
Cheers

Fill the car with bodies, find a hill and boot it from 1000 rpm in top gear, if it's going to slip that's when it will !
Tidy that his full de-cat has a years MOT too !

If the clutch is on it's way then the biting point will be really high and it will feel **** every gear change, As for the HG you need to take it out for a nice long drive say 10-20 miles with a spirited drive once upto running temp then have a local garage do a sniffer test. Job done. Also check for any leaks around the engine bay and the box.

That would be my car, I lowered the price from £4250 as i now need something to stick the big miles on instead of the scoob.
Best to call the number on the advert as im hardly on here if you want to know more.
Its still forsale at the mo but i've recently had a couple calls about it, if interested give me a shout.
Cheers
