Default Tyres

I put 4 new tyres on my sti about 2 weeks ago and not concentrating on the way to work I clipped a width restriction and put a split in the sidewall,It went the MOT today and its listed as advisory. Ive just over 500 miles in the car since I change the tyres but the question is do you think its ok for me to replace that one tyre thats damaged with a new one same brand . I know its supposed to be done in pairs, has anyone else been as silly as me.

As above mate. No worries about changing that single tyre. Drive safe.

i remember a few years back now,i had just bought a brand new set of wheels and tyres.it was middle of summer and i was out for a drive.along came 2 birds walking down the pavement on the opposite side of the road wearing next to fekk all.so instantly my neck became made of rubber and my head turned a full 180deg around to veiw the rear end of the lovely ladies.next thing, bang i hit the kurb.to say my nearside alloy was a right mess was an understatment, and the tyre wasnt much better.so the moral of the story is,always look were you are going.

He's asking if he should change the damaged tyre for one of the SAME BRAND, not just should he change the tyre.

Yes, i would certainly recommend replacing the damaged tyre with one of the same brand, rather than a different brand.

1 new tyre should be fine but if you hit it with any force i would get the tracking checked, Or you may need another one soon.
