8.10 and from a standing start, most laps now are from a flying start after coming out of the pit.

Classic looks to be a standing start too and 11sec improvement in 8 years. Classic will be over 280 ps and so will the spec c, lets not kid ourselves

11 seconds for a circa 150kg heavier car, not bad over 8 years
Now where is that diagram showing the improvements over the years from the 93-present cars with the times

Put re070s and take 180km/h limiter off a classic and then we are talking
I can see the spec c reaches 250km/h on the 'Antoniusbuche' at the end of the long straight , so delimited classic wouldn't be much slower?

Time to change your bookmark Tony. This ones the proper version from Subaru of Japan (SUBARUOnTube on youtube) The audio is spot on on this one.

Part 1 (introduction) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hd0WE1TJfMU
Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUHjzVIyxsE
Part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgNmP...eature=related

And for those who missed my previous post. https://www.scoobynet.com/members-ga...ng-attack.html

Makes me wonder how much quicker would the Spec C be if it had some Tarmac brakes, race tyres with around 360 - 380bhp

Here you go Tony.

http://www.subaru-global.com/special...nge/index.html

Click on 'The History of WRX STI development"

There also quite a few videos, showing history of WRX STI and Nurburgring, an interview with Tommi and the engineers, development stages of the car and some nice wallpaper. Best of all, there are english subtitles this time round.

Yes Peter, as far as i've searched, i have not seen any other manufacturers do standing starts for their "official lap time".

I wonder how much difference is there between a standing start vs a flying start.

They wouldnt have had the limiter on the version 3, thats only in japan, and the spec c would also have been limited to 180kmh, but as you see, they removed the limiter there too

Suberman, thanks for the other bits, now added to my favourites
