Default "tein" bonnet dampers fitted today in the freezing cold

Had a good day today was -4 been looking forward to fitting these since monday but been away till late last nite ,so had a clear bright very cold day and set too.

Was a bit of a struggle at the start as i couldn't depress the damper to fit it in (must of had a blonde moment) then realised all i had to do was lift the bonnet higher to fit...doh

The fixing kit that came withit only allows you to fasten to 1 bolt on the bonnet itself so had to drill and tap an extra hole for 2nd bolt to stop it from slipping round when i shut the bonnet,i have a picture of a car that has these fitted and the bracket on the bonnet is different to mine think i need to find these as seem a better fit.

Let me know what you think !

No, the brackets supplied have a multi fit hole's,but only line up with 1 of them, so to secure better i drilled and tapped a 6mm hole and added an extra bolt.

The other pic i added show a bracket that picks up both of the existing bolts that secure the bonnet to the hinge so giving top and bottom supports.

Don't see the point: extra weight to do the same job as the bonnet stay?

OK, weight notwithstanding, what do they do that the standard strut doesn't?

Nope, all I fitted is what was in the box, there wasn't any left overs, so to speak.

I think you've been sent a kit for a different car.

Alcazar; Jeff, what turbo are you running on your 2.5? Just out of interest, being curious n'all.

I've lashed some 2.5l equipped cars, it's fun embarrassing them.
