I changed mine only by cacelling tyrrell1 (89 threads) deleting all and registering again as hgv1 driver (0 threads).

I had to change mine because I forgot password and gave them the wrong email address to send it to,
Anyway you will just have to join again as someone else thats what I did.

You don't have to "cancel" your old name, just register a new one.

It would be polite to notify the Webmaster that you've changed your username and he can then delete your old one.
