Default Had a lucky escape there!

Today I was under my Impreza changing the downpipe and I looked up and noticed that the engine mounts hadn't got any nuts on them where they bolt to the cross-member! I was corning hard a couple of weeks ago and heard a clonk and wondered what it was and it seems I've found the culprit!

I couldn't believe what I was seeing so a quick call to Rich (Fiestaboy) and he confirmed that there should indeed be nuts securing the mounts to the cross-member as I suspected.

Thank god for gravity

I've not owned the car long so I'm guessing that someone has removed them in the past and never put them back on Either that or they didn't do them up very tight

Rich has just told me I need new mounts as mine are as soft as butter!! I did know something was wrong with mine you could feel it I'm surprised you hadn't noticed sooner? I do reckon that the clonk you heard not so long ago my have been them letting go?!? Fingers crossed you get it sorted asap.

Grp N mounts are a nice treat if you are used to soggy OEM old ones

They bolt up pretty tight, amazed to see that !

Rich loves doing engine mounts

What options are there for mounts?

Just the Group N ones, or are there others to consider?

The clonk was caused by me hooning around a tight bend flat out in 2nd The engine must have shifted then settled again Either way it's lucky I noticed, if I wasn't changing the downpipe and struggling with a bolt the chances are I wouldn't have noticed!

You buy them as a straight forward service item. Mark Lateral sells them so I dare say if you have them fitted Rich can supply

No real variance in road options OEM, get the STi GrpN. Hardrace do them too but I'd rather the real deal

Uprated Grpn Gearbox mount is the business also
