Default new engine

hi ,
i have an 02 wrx that i was thinkin of havin re-built by a reputable specialist , but with my spec it should get about 340bhp which is my turbos limit and as far as i can go reliably ! but the problem with that is i know ill end up wantin more ( as u do )
so i could go forged build , then at a later date change for bigger turbo ? which is mega bucks !!
or fit another engine sti ? 2.5? which would b alot cheaper but can anyone tell me where to find a decent one ? does anyone know where i can get a decent reconditioned engine from ?? as i know there are lots of dodgy " resprayed " engines out there !! i nearly fell victim to one
appreciate any advice

£2K will get you a 2.5 bottom end with uprated pistons, with all standard WRX bits added you get up to 300 bhp and loads more torque, makes a lovely road car.

IMHO

If the budget is tight, why not add STI 8/9 rods and pistons to the build.

vf34 turbo
full de-cat
up-pipe
550cc injecters
pipercross panel filter
walbro fuel pump
ecu tech re-map
actually it made 302 bhp wen i had it mapped but that was just before it went pop ! and should of made about 330 ! i was gonna get cosworth induction kit, japspeed fmic , fuel pressure reg and other bits n bobs !! then maybe it would get closer to 350 . but now im not sure
