Default MAF Problem?

My hawkeye STi has started to stutter under acceleration and it feels like the fuel is being cut.

I recon its the MAF but my engine light has not come on.

When the MAF is on its way out does the engine light come on?

Usually only when it has actually completely failed.

If it were me, I'd get it to a specialist before the engine suffers any damage

One step ahead of you there, its already booked in for OBDII treatment tomorrow morning.

MAF problems and a slipping clutch! This will be an expensive Xmas.

Yeh its the 2.5. Just went out to investigate there and couldn't seen anything obvious, but took it for a short blast and its not stuttering now....?

Which in my eyes is worse as I dont have any fault or fault codes to get checked. Any ideas?

Yeah: don't "take it for a blast" short or otherwise, until it's been diagnosed and put right.

If you need to drive it, like a granny is the way to go
