Thoughts on a Wagon
I am considering a Wagon to replace my trusty Diesel people carrier as I crave the performance. I've had 4 Imprezas in the past, modded up to 400 brake and after selling my Astra VXR 2 weeks ago I vowed I would not venture into performance cars again.
I am looking to spend up to £3k on a facelift classic or a bugeye wagon, but looking on the classifieds there are few around with decent mileage.
I am concerned that I will not be content with either model in standard form and the modding bug will return leaving my wallet in tatters again.
So if I sell the trusty Diesel I have currently and go for the wagon, I fear I may regret it. Decisions.............

Just because its a wagon, doesnt mean its slower then the same year saloon etc. My brothers standard(at the time) STi 4 wagon pulled 2 car lengths over my 330bhp Evo 6 GSR a few years ago.
I love the wagons, loads of room in the back for a dog and still got the perfomance to match, tends to blend in with normal traffic aswell, doesnt need stupid big spoilers.

I have had 2 uk wagons in the last 2 years and both made over 315 bhp, thing that appealed to me,was not as hardcore as the saloon in looks imho and the 2 i bought were really well looked after, and like ginge says when mapped can be quite rapid ie: An estate disguised as a 'sports' car .

Pic of my wagon, owned for a month or so now and low every minute of it.
Going from a Volvo S40 to the Wagon has gotta be the best choice ive made in a long time.

I've had my blob wagon PPP for 2 years now and I'm getting fed up with it.
I'm fed up with it because I cannot find anything out there for less than £10k that does the job better, so cant justify selling it.
Lots of room, great for dump trips
4x4, great grip
Fast
Seriously reliable
Looks quite aggressive
28 mpg when I'm careful
Insurance £370
