Car choices..
Well, after getting my STi hatch a couple of weeks ago, my bro has decided he wants to swap his my03 STi type UK in.
He is trying to decide between,
A) a new STi 4 door in plasma blue silica
or
B) a red, 10 miles on clock, nobbles on the tyres, 5 door hatch sti, with the 330 upgrade pack (wheels etc), registered on a 10 plate
The hatch comes in at about 6k less money.
As far as I can tell, the difference for him will be :-
4 door
-------
+ spec C suspension
+ keyless entry
+ bluetooth
+ sat nav
- more depreciation?
- 6k more
- not as practical
- no spoiler (yet)
5 door
-------
+ 6k cheaper
+ 330bhp etc
+ hatch back, so more practical
Anything else i've missed?
What would you lot do?
Richie.

new saloon if you want executive feel
if your not bothered then 330R, but the SPEC C suspension is something you must test, its like on rails compared to how it used to be, not that it was bad , but alot nicer.
handfree is a godsend, no matter what ive used Parrot Pioneer JVC, this scooby one is great.
Seats are awsome you wont get them in the 330R youll get the poor WRX-S ones that were nasty cheapuns.
ipod and Iphone is cool also
keyless entry nice
but 6k is alot but i thought fack it, why buy old stuff lets go new
one thing i miss was the practicality of the hatch i actually got a full size Roland digital piano in which was cool, but i was always paranoid some1 whould smash the window and nick stuff, as you only have the flimsy cover thingy, The boot is like a locked safe,
you could always get the 2010 hatch with spec C

I'd go for the hatch personally, more practical and 6k is a lot of money and would easily pay for some coilovers or similar suspesnions mods, I like the saloon but after owning a scoob in both models I'd have to stay hatch now I think!! Saying that tough I'd still have an RS4 saloon!!!
Only thing that would put me off the that particular hatch is the colour, have seen some nice red STI's on NASIOC but they take a fair few mods (for me) to look good in red.

Out of those two i would go for the cheaper one, as others say 6k is a LOT of money the only item in your list that i would want is the spec c suspension but im sure the 330s will handle fine.
I like the look of the hatch better than the new saloon, maybe the saloon will grow on me...

ipod/iphone / sat nav / blue tooth, sorted by a new head unit and the suspension looked at if needed with some of the 6k savings. Could even change the seats if need be.
The outcome is a more practical car, which uses a key instead of a button and has more power. It is a no brainer to me tbh.
