Noticed since havind full decat fitted japspeed downpipe ,and custom straight through to backbox that its very loud inside the car now ,bit too loud infact is this so with decat downpipe any remedies to quiten it abit or change system thoughts please.

because you have a custom straight thru pipe as a centre section it will be louder in the cabin as you have got rid of the resonator which quietens the sound down a bit in the cabin, a way around this is to buy a resonated centre section.

this is what im a little worried about ,dont want something which is deafening at low revs ,is this what you mean ?

is that what the expanded areas are on most decats ?where the pipe goes a little bigger then tapers off again ?

yeah, thats it, but only on the centre section, the other bulges in the pipes are cats.

If your car is a classic the the Simple solution if your system from the downpipe back is not a 1 piece unit , simply remove the centre straight through section and fit a std centre section off a uk classic which has a small cat & a resonator section. Not sure about newage centre sections I think they just have the cat.

I had the same problem just when I bought new decat system on my newage. Tried to fit back center pipe with resonator, drone in cabin was slightly decreased but still not what I wanted.
Then some friend made this thing for me, it is like a nozzle with additional holes drilled around. Welded to its own flange and putted between center pipe and back box.
It's a lot lot better now + performace stayed the same.
Just an idea which works...

I bought this reduction piece aka nozzle and then gave it to toolmaker to finish it for properly fitting into 2.5" pipe, drilled the holes and welded it on its own flange. Great thing I must say.
