Default Petrol?

After reading about poor angry_boy and his engine being toasted on BP Ultimate it has got me thinking. Is it safe to run a Type UK STi (2002/3) on anything other than V-Power? I'm in the position now I'm looking for one of these and I'm trying to cover every base and as such I don't want to find I have to know the location of every single Shell garage in a 200 mile radius

Yes it is

I've rang all my previous STI's on Sainsburys SUL
Last 05 STI was also remapped to approx 340 bph on this by Mr Forrest and never missed a beat
Just don't use normal unleaded

I had a bad batch of V-power a few years ago just before going on the rollers so it can happen to any petrol.

Ive always used v-power (98 sti remapped) it was mapped on v-power, ive never used anything else but i would think tesco 99 would be fine. I just wouldnt use a 95 ron fuel. Saying that, I would imagine the uk cars will be set-up to use uk fuel, but you should ask subaru uk what there cars are mapped for.

I have a 2006 wrx and when you open the petrol cap it says only use 95 Ron I use sul as there are no v power or momentum garages near me. If I use millers octane booster will this make any difference?

Thanks

Don't forget the Tomtom shell poi download, so you don't have to worry about where those shell stations are.

I ran my previous WRX PPP on sainsburys SUL, also used tesco 99 and vpower, ran ok on all of them, A standard uk car will be fine on any SUL, in fact shouldn't self destruct on 95 ron, just not really advisable as the best performance will be from SUL, but any 97 ron upwards should be fine unless it has been mapped on anything specific. I never tried BP though as heard bad reports on it.
