I am just about to buy a Impreza 2.0 Sport R saloon. Its a 56 plate (Dec 2006). It does not have the pop up headlamp washers!! I thought all these were standard?? I am worried this may be not what it seems!! Can anyone help before I part with my hard earned cash??? The VIN begins with JF1 so I know its european I rang a Suburu dealer and its on there system as 2.0 R Sport. It just does not make sense!!!! Please help anyone!! Thanks.....

I dont understand why mine does not have the headlamp washers! Its suposed to have them if its a 2.0 R Sport!! I wondered if there were some models that did not have them.... Cheers for the reply...

I thought that the pop-up washers came with the HIDS and UK cars had non-HID headlamps ?

(Isn't it law nowadays for new vehicles to have washers with HIDS ?)

Does it have HID headlamps, as I think that you only get headlamp washers with HID lamps.

I had a UK Hawkeye WRX and it definitely came with factory HID's and washer jets.

And yes it is law for new vehicles equipped with HID lamps to have washer jets fitted to clean the lamps.

I think you'll find that it has halogen and not HID headlamps as well hence no headlamp washers but I'm viewing on my iPhone so I can't quite see the lamps properly so I may be wrong...

Yes I have seen the lamps in use. If it does not have hids then do you think it is a import? The vin has JF1 which means it is european!! but we are the only ones who drive on the left!!! The 2.0 R Sport comes standard with hids!! this is very confusing!!!!!

It could be a grey import from Malta I suppose, quite a lot of Hawkeyes were sold by the likes of Motorpoint and other car supermarkets.

Good luck the grey European imports were at one time not holding their value as well as a UK car but that has changed now. There are a couple of minor differences in the interior trim but I think that's about it.
