Question GB270 hesitant/jerky accelaration

Quick question guys.

57 plate GB270 has 22k miles and has started to be hesitant, almost jerky during moderate accelaration. Happens in 3rd,4th and 5th gear.
Hard accelaration is fine. Any suggestions?

Car has a few weeks left on warranty but has coilovers so not keen to take it to dealer as I've obviously invalidated the warranty.

Have kept original suspension just in case I needed to swap it back if anything major happened before warranty was up.

May take it up to AWD Motorsport for a diagnosis first but any suggestions appreciated.

Cheers

What fuel have you been running it on? And how long have these symptoms been happening?

Get it back to the dealers the suspension doesn't have any bearing on the engine fault. There's no harm in trying they can only say no, have you been using 98+ rom???

sorry to scare you bud but there is a common headgasket problem with 2.5 engines (do a quick search on here) get a compression check done urgently, before your warranty runs out ! and if this is the case get it down the dealers straight away.
as if it is this it could cost ££££££££.

all the best

Coilovers will only invalidate the suspension warranty, as said above get it to a dealer so if is a bigger issue your covered.

make sure all your tyres are not unduly worn, your seat is not to close to the steering wheel, everything on the car is Genuine Subaru etc etc...

Subaru warranty payouts are not as relaxed as they used to be!

I had the same problem on mine a Gb270 and am on my 3rd MAF which is apparently unheard of. This started at about 12k then again at about 26k. Since the fitment of the last one it's been ok. Do now and again get a very slight hesitation at about 2250 revs in top on a motorway.

Never heard about this head gasket fault on the 2.5 ?

And I wouldn't worry at all about the coilovers I would just book it in let them have a look at it and see what they say

regards

Nige

Thats me! Get it to the dealer ASAP - before the warranty goes.

Get the:

1. MAF
2. Both head gaskets
3. Bottom end

checked asap.

Is it using any oil / smoking in the mornings on a cold start?

Thanks for the replies guys.

Popped into dealer today and they were sound. Obviously coilovers nowt to do with it so they were cool.
Booked in to get it checked.

Hopefully just MAF.

Cheers.

nice one. Make sure you get a full answer, when my Head gasket go the dealer told me it was a issue with the temp gauge and not to worry about it, after my warranty ran out took the car for a service at RCM and they told me the real issues. Subaru ended up only paying half the costs as it was outside warranty and they couldn’t get their head around the fact it’s a second car and doesn’t get used all year round (long time from reported issue and RCM finding the issue)

Good luck

not true the modification must be directly linked the the issue hench if the window wipers fail and your car has had a remap it cant have contributed to the fault.
