Chip in Ecu ??

yes any ecu is fine. im using a 7d uk ecu in my import with a chip. i picked he 7d cos it has a chip holder in it from the factory. saved me the hassle of soldering.

Can get one from a legacy 4 socket withchip holder been told it will work fine just a bit of work to get it to fit in the case is this true. It was fitted to a impreza just want to be sure

be careful with the legacy ecus as some/all of them are i believe Hitachi instead of jecs so the chip wont be compatible with the Hitachi ecu.

Tried that and i cocked it up so need a ecu and socket soldering in becoming a expensive upgrade. I will buy a z4 when i get more funds to put it back to normal if i need to but looking at cheep options at the moment to get the car on the road
