under rated tyres
just a quick heads up for all those in the market for new tyres. i have just replaced my 235/45/17 tyres recently. i had on the highly sought after Bridgestone re070s but as i could not replace in jap size due to a lack of UK suppliers i was considering either, Eagle F1s, Vredstein Ultracs, or Falken FK452s. anyhow , new , i was looking at between £350-£450 roughly supplied and fitted. now a mate told me to have a look at what he had at his Tyre fitting centre so dubiously i headed there to see what was on offer. he showed me some Continental sport contact 3s which had loads of meat on them but unsure i headed home to do a little research. Camskill are offering these at £133 each , so more expensive than any of the others i was considering, also, they had a pretty decent "write up" so i decided to head back and give them a go.
"to you mate, £100 for the four, supplied, balanced and fitted", cant be bad i thought as new, just supplied would of been at least £530.
gotta say these tyres imo are the b0ll0cks, much, much better in the wet than the bridgestones (but i dont think anyone disputes that), but the best of it is, for anyone in the market for them, these are very popular in Germany, which is where the UK mostly imports its p/w from due to their strict laws, so there is loads of these sat around waiting to be fitted. my advice, TRY THEM, you dont know what your missing

yep...
Yep.... got the new 'Contisport 3' on my hatch Sti '08 and they are very good.
Although the REO 70 wil always be a legend, these new Contis are a much better all round tyre for road use. Emphasis on 'all round' and 'road use'.
And they give the dull hatch steering a little bit more feel.

I can understand that the re070;s are not the best for in the wet, you only have to look at them to work that out, but I can honestly say I have never had an issue with them in the wet, granted I dont normally push the car hard in the wet but normal to fast road use is never a problem. I also love the look of the RE070 which always seems to attract some sort of attention

more than likely if you know a place that sells good part worns, i do know the lad, and buying all 4 as well as them going on a spare set of wheels meant slightly less work for them, but should think you will defo get them at £35 each
