White lines on tyres look pretty!
LOL got uneven tyre wear issues on the inside edges bloody peed off because the rest of the tyre is perfect. need a realignment err and new fronts! Thing is got no dough, so the question is apart from getting nicked how dangerous is it driving with a few white canvass lines on your front inside edges.

The canvas section is pretty much whats holding the tyre together!!
So get a new set on and have a lazer alignment mate, ASAP!!!!!!!
Not to mention the old bill can give you 3 points per illegal tyre, and up to £1000 fine per illegal tyre!!
Plus if you can't fit the spare to get you out of trouble if the old bill pull you (i.e two knackered tyres and one spare!) They will take the car off of you and impound it!!!!!

Imagine you're driving past a bus stop and get a blow out, mount the kerb and take out half a dozen people. Nicked mate, they'd throw the key away.
Do everyone a favour and get your car off the road before it all goes very wrong for you.

If you go to your local tyre fitters I'm sure they'll be able to turn the tyres round so you will effectively be running on the other edge of the tyre. This should last you a good few months.
The other posts are all trying to scare you.

i know that feeling of being skint no matter how much you earn. Whenever i earn more on overtime i end up havin to blow it on a blown tyre or something.
But yes, canvas showing is illegal, even if the rest of the tread is still deep. Just bung your spazzy wheel on til next month.

his just makes me mad!!!
If it's down to the canvas ,how many thousands of miles has he been driving on bad tyres with bad geometry.
When will people realise a car is a lethal weapon. I'll use this analogy;
I am walking down the street firing a gun in various random directions & the police stop me & I say 'It's ok officer I havn't killed anyone yet' would you consider me a lunatic?

Blimey has anyone got a sense of humour! Dont have a go at me for being skint coz if anyone on here was rich they would be driving around in a gt3 not with an sti! Don´t worry it will not appear on the road again until the fronts have been replaced, but honestly i didnt realise until it was put up on a ramp, it was handling ok and its only the real inside edge which I couldn´t see. I would never knowingly put anyone else at risk!

Hey Edd! I get irony as much as the next man, keyboards aren't my forte, so i need the occasional or
However i've seen first hand the consequences of tyre failiure, and the end result usually involves a big loss of property, or even a loss of life in three cases!!
Been in the trade far too long to think tyre issues can be treated with a tongue in cheek attitude i'm sorry to say.
I know it sounds heavy handed, but i feel tyre faults should be treated as bad as major brake issues.
These things are your only connection to the road and should be cared for and checked every week/weekend, whilst giving the car its wash or oil level checks!
Verdasco says he's sorting it, so i'll put my usb rambo kit away for tonight!!

As above. I'm sure anyone who has suffered a blow out will agree. It's a horrible experience. Something I'd never want to go through again. I was lucky no one was around. Never found out what made it blow either. Ever since I've developed an OCD tyre check

Two words: Credit Card.
Really handy for tight situations like this - I'm the same, I'm not rolling in money and if something needs doing and I can't afford it at the time, I credit card it and pay it back over a few months, or when the money comes in. Just make sure it's only used for emergencies/needed work.
